The fabrics we work with
As an eco-minded brand, we prioritise working with fabrics that are made from natural and renewable crops. Examples include hemp, linen, wool, organic cotton, beechwood and bamboo, as well as newer, eco-friendly, man-made cellulosic fabrics like Lyocell and Tencel.
Among the mentioned fabrics and crops, bamboo is the cornerstone of our collection. And for good reason. Whilst the fabric made from bamboo is incredibly soft, breathable, and comfortable to wear, its natural benefits and low-impact cultivation make bamboo an ideal choice for anyone looking to reduce their carbon footprint. Embracing bamboo is also a conscious step away from conventional materials like (organic) cotton or oil-derived synthetics such as polyester and nylon, as most of these fabrics are harmful to the environment and unsustainable to use in the long term. Even recycled synthetics fall short, especially with growing concerns over microplastics.
Stay with us as we delve deeper into the unique features and benefits of bamboo below.
-
Bamboo Crop Features
Renowned for its rapid growth and regenerative qualities, bamboo is one of nature’s most sustainable resources, which thrives naturally in tropical rainforests. Some standout features include:
- Fast growing & renewable
- Lower environmental impact
- Carbon absorption
-
Bamboo Clothing Features
Surprisingly, despite the strength of the bamboo plant, bamboo fabric is incredibly soft, gentle and lightweight. Bamboo fabric is best known for:
- Ultra-soft feel
- Exceptional breathability
- Gentle on sensitive skin

Bamboo; a comparison with other fabrics
Bamboo is a unique fabric and offers several advantages compared to the some of the most used fabrics nowadays, like cotton but also over synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester;
- Environmentally more sustainable (especially vs. nylon and polyester)
- Highly moisture absorbent (up to 3x more than cotton)
- Antibacterial & hypoallergenic (perfect for any skin and allergies)
- No microplastics (polyester and nylon are petroleum-based and harm the environment more then we think, even recycled polyester / nylon clothing)
Choosing to wear sustainable fabrics like bamboo is not only an investment in quality products but also contributes to a greener and healthier planet. However, end of the day, there is still work to be done to make bamboo even more sustainable than it already is. But, most likely, bamboo will get there sooner than others.
